Stratford

Stratford is an area of east London currently undergoing rapid development. Just 10 km from London city centre, the neighbouring urban centres are Docklands and Greenwich. The area boasts excellent amenities including shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Nearby Stratford Park offers a 56 acre area with a leisure centre, woodland, lakes and gardens.

Stratford City is set to be the Olympic Games hub in 2012. As a result, development of the area is underway and almost 5,000 new homes, 2,000 hotel rooms and 2 schools are being built, as well as around 500,000 square meters of commercial office space. This currently underdeveloped London town is expected to be fully regenerated and expanded by 2012.

Stratford is an exceptional base for business travellers and is well linked with other parts of London. It is popular with the City commuters as it takes only 15 minutes to connect with the main financial district of London. Stratford underground is served by Central and Jubilee lines and is also on the Docklands Light Railway network, providing easy access to Canary Wharf.

The well known West Ham United Football Club that belongs to English Premier League is based at Stratford’s Upton Park.

Westfield shopping centre is another recently completed Stratford regeneration project. It is reported to be the third largest shopping centre in the United Kingdom.
