Cheltenham
Cheltenham is a hugely popular historic spa town in the county of Gloucestershire. The Pump Room which originally made this town so popular still remains today, and is well worth the visit. The town has also become known for its Gold Cup horse race, which takes place every March.
Visitor Attractions
Pittville Park
This 19th century park, is also home to the pump room, which is just 10 minutes walk North from the High Street.
Cheltenham Race Course
The Race Course has become very popular with visitors in recent years, and is a spectacular area. Buses run from the city centre on a regular basis.
Shopping
The town offers a diverse shopping experience for visitors. The Montpellier and The Suffolks area have several independent luxurious boutique shops. All of the UK’s favourite chain stores can be found on the High Street and Lower High Street. Regent Arcade and Beachwood Place Shopping malls are also host to a number of high-street shops.
Eating-Out
The town offers a plethora of restaurants and small eateries. The Daffodil is certainly worth a visit, it is a contemporary restaurant situated in an old Art Deco cinema, remnant from the roaring twenties. Located just a few minutes away from the fashionable Montpellier area of Cheltenham. The Royal Well Tavern is another great option. It operates as a French bistro, with a fantastic ambiance. For those who seek out unique food options, The Storyteller Restaurant and Wine Room provides a very relaxed atmosphere and offers an original menu.
Nightlife
Cheltenham offers its visitors a number of relaxed wine bars and pubs. The Swan is a popular pub which hosts live entertainment and serves local and branded drinks. The Retreat is also worth a visit; an upmarket establishment which boasts a eclectic wine list.
