Chelsea

This upmarket area of West London boasts some of the most exclusive buildings in the UK and is one of the most sought after areas in London. It is formed by two high streets, the King’s Road and the Fulham Road, that run parallel to the river Thames. Chelsea boasts an array of fashionable boutiques and antique shops and many exclusive hotels towards the Sloane Square area.  Its proximity to the Thames, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park and Battersea Park and the West End provides Chelsea with a desired location.

Chelsea was once the centre of the Swinging Sixties movement which got defined in the shabby part of Chelsea called World’s End. Eric Clapton lived on King’s Road during the late 1960s. Once the borough of artists, nowadays Chelsea is home to many famous stars such as Kylie Minogue and many investment bankers and other wealthy individuals.

This fabulously wealthy riverside neighbourhood lends its name to the Chelsea Football Club that belongs to English Premier League.

The area is also known for its annual Chelsea Flower Show founded in 1913 and held every May. It is hosted in the gardens of Chelsea Royal Hospital.
