Camden is a vibrant quarter of northwest London. Once considered unfashionable, the area quickly became popular with tourists, alternative music fans and shopping enthusiasts when Camden Markets opened in 1970s.
The markets attract over 5 million people a year and offer anything from vintage clothes, food and spices as well as jewellery and arts and crafts. The Camden Lock market is the original Camden market founded in 1973.
Camden is located on London canal network. The Regent’s Canal trips are a popular activity among tourists in the summer months. A regular waterbus service operates along the Regent’s Canal from Camden Lock, heading for Regent’s Park and London Zoo. Cycling along the canal is also popular.
The area boasts a variety of fashionable cafes, bars and restaurants, offering a variety of cuisines, and it has several popular music venues.
