1000 jobs to be created from business park expansion in Exeter
In the continued frenzy of developments taking place in Exeter, the expansion of the existing business park at Matford could be forgiven for being somewhat overlooked. It may not have the shine or allure of the Sky Park or Science Park, but the project due to start this year will perhaps be the most valuable and immediate boost to the local economy.

The expansion is set to create an additional one thousand jobs and attract more large businesses to Exeter, a city which is continually growing a reputation as one of the best locations in the country for organisations to be based. Tim Jones, chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Business Council, spelled out clearly the value of Matford Business Park to the local economy:
"This is the number one scheme Exeter needs to secure future employment space in the short term. -The success of the Marsh Barton and Matford area has been one of the principal drivers of Exeter's economy for many years."
Plans to expand the existing Matford Business Park were always intended, and this particular part of the park’s plan is considered to be phase 3 of the overall project. Work on the core infrastructure of the site will begin this year, with the first buildings scheduled to go up early next year. For more information see the whole story here.
